A Pearls of Service Foundation Signature Event
Pathway to Promise: Culture and Scholarship
The Pearls of Service Foundation (PSF) annually awards scholarships to college-bound students from Southeast Michigan. June 2025 marks 26 years of fulfilling our mission. PSF plans to distribute scholarship awards exceeding $35,000 and will fund nearly $20,000 for community service programming for underserved communities throughout Metro Detroit.
PSF will honor our scholarship recipients during a Juneteenth Jazz celebration. The celebration will include small business networking, a sustainable community fashion showcase, and a buffet. The PSF 2025 fashion showcase will highlight our community's collaborative sustainability. The featured designs are made from recycled fabrics from Detroit’s Black female-owned NexTile manufacturer, which were then created as wearable designs by four Black female-owned design houses. This year’s featured jazz artist is Daryl Beebe. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Daryl Beebe is a phenomenal and innovative saxophonist, producer, songwriter, composer, preacher, teacher, motivational speaker, and counselor. This multitiered educator has many talents. Beebe has released four CDs, and eight of Daryl’s singles have received global radio airplay through Sirius XM Watercolors and multiple electronic media streaming outlets worldwide. This event serves as our major fundraiser for 2025. We always host our scholarship awardees and their families.
Our celebration aligns with the city of Southfield's Juneteenth festivities, of which we have been an integral community partner since the inaugural events in 2019.

2024 Juneteenth Celebration Recap
The 2024 Juneteenth Celebration: We Are Our Ancestors Wildest Dreams
It was truly a celebration of scholarship and the arts. The event was executed flawlessly. The patrons enjoyed poetry by Ms. Chloe Bagley (future Poet Laureate) and artistic designs by the College for Creative Studies students. Several art pieces were purchased as well. They learned the history of the art of African drums and dancing. The Pearls of Service Foundation distributed over $27,000 in scholarships. Our scholarship recipients were prominently honored by the committee for their hard work and academic accomplishments. This event is a major source of scholarship distribution and education for our Juneteenth holiday where corporations, companies, and the community can join in the fun. This annual recognition ceremony is eagerly anticipated by all of us at PSF.
We formally acknowledge and commend our scholarship committee members for their dedicated efforts in managing the process this year:
